David Nguyen, CPA
Founder, Cloud Edge Accounting Ltd
My career in accounting began in 2017 at a boutique firm, Legacy Advantage, where I learned early the value of working smarter—not harder—through technology-driven bookkeeping systems. When Legacy Advantage was acquired by Deloitte in late 2018, I transitioned into their cloud bookkeeping division, continuing to develop my expertise in automation and efficient workflow design. In 2021, the division was acquired by MNP, where I managed a team of bookkeepers and supported a wide range of growing businesses.
Over time, I realized that I wanted to build something of my own. In early 2023, I founded Cloud Edge Accounting with a mission to help business owners reclaim their time. I know firsthand the daily pressures that come with running a business; the long nights, administrative overload, and desire to spend more time growing the business rather than drowning in the day-to-day tasks. That’s why I’m passionate about delivering streamlined, technology-enabled bookkeeping solutions that reduce administrative burden and create clarity around financial performance.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kwantlen Polytechnic University (2014) and earned my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2022.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. We love traveling, hiking, reading together, and cheering on our kids at their Jiujitsu classes.

Business Partner, Cloud Edge Accounting Ltd
I joined Cloud Edge Accounting as a Business Partner in 2024, where me and David share the same mission: to empower business owners to reclaim their time by streamlining processes, driving efficiencies, and providing clear financial insights that give clients a competitive edge.
My passion for accounting began at 14 when I read an article on how technology could reshape businesses, sparking my interest in blending business with technology. This led me to earn a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC in 2015, specializing in Accounting and Business Technology Management. In 2016, I joined Legacy Advantage, a startup in Vancouver focused on empowering small and medium-sized businesses with cloud accounting solutions.
As my career evolved, I recognized the importance of leadership in driving long-term success. I shifted my focus from purely technical expertise to mentorship, seeing it as key to building high-performing teams. I joined Deloitte in 2018 where I began honing these leadership skills. By 2021, I moved into MNP to manage their Cloud Accounting Division, leading a team of 25 specialists and supporting over 300 clients across Canada with an annual revenue exceeding $4 million.
I obtained my CPA designation in 2023 to deepen my expertise in financial strategy and provide even more value to my clients. Now, at Cloud Edge Accounting, I’m focused on leveraging my decade of experience to build a high-performing team that helps clients optimize financial processes through technology and drive sustainable growth.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing badminton and tackling complex board games, both of which sharpen my strategic thinking. I also have a passion for languages and am fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese – skills that help me connect with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
